Dance Dance Revolution 8th Mix is the the eighth installment of the DDR line, this version is said to be the best with over 200 songs, including some of the hardest songs in the world, such as Legend of Max, and Max Unlimited. "Nonstop" mode is also featured, where players must survive 4 songs without stopping, as well as
the return of "Oni" mode, where players must play 5-10 songs without stopping and missing more than a few steps.
DDR basics:
Dance Dance Revolution is a dance/fitness simulation game is which players, step on 4 one or more of the arrows on the floor panel at the right time. Depending on your timing, the screen will flash with anything from miss to perfect. Players can gain combo from make a number of successful steps.
The player bar down the bottom of the screen displays how the player is doing and Perfect! or Great! steps will increase the bar, getting Misses or near misses will decreases the bar. After the song finishes the player is given a rank based on his/her performance from E-Fail to SS. Anything apart from a Fail allows the player to continue.
