Dance Dance Revolution X Full Upgrade Kit is a complete kit which can upgrade any DDR machines. Dance Dance Revolution X includes over 60 new songs as well as songs from previous titles in the series.
The difficulty rating system has also been overhauled, with the Songs rated on a scale of 1 (easiest) to 20 (hardest). Another change to the series is the introduction of 'Shock Arrows'. Shock arrows are different to normal arrows and are differentiated by their white colour and lightning effects. Shock Arrows must be avoided instead of being stepped on, and if you step on the shock arrow, you lose your combo and part of your life bar. The songs which contain shock arrows are marked on the song select screen, and they only appear on certain difficulties.
